Our World Art Fest 2018 Image Gallery
Here are some of the highlights of this year's event.
Our World Art Fest, 2018
Graceville Uniting Church and Milpera State High School presented the second annual major art exhibition by Milpera students, including art, 'Sounds of Our World' music, and an exciting programme of Indigenous cultural activities, between September 7 – 9, 2018.
Thanks for attending our recent Our World ARTFEST, which was held Sept 7 – 10 at the Graceville Uniting Church.
We really appreciated your support in engaging with us as we celebrated the artistic talent and diversity of the students of Milpera State High School, as they used this to share their experiences of their world, and learn about their new world in our community.
It was very successful, and we thought you may like to visit our website to see the gallery of images which were taken over the 3 days of art, music and Indigenous culture.
We're proud to say we raised over $700 for Asylum Seekers Resource Centre from gold coin donations on entry.
Milpera State High School Art Exhibition
A partnership between Milpera State High School and Graceville Uniting Church
Milpera State High School is located in Chelmer and is an Intensive Language Centre catering to the settlement and language learning needs of newly arrived migrants and refugee background young people.
There are currently students from more than 30 different cultural backgrounds.
Graceville Uniting Church is proud to present 'Welcome to Our World', an art exhibition of Milpera State High School students. We believe it is part of our mission and ministry to engage with our community.
This art exhibition presents a valuable opportunity for the students to continue to build connections with their new communities and to continue to develop their language and cultural understanding of Australia, while also sharing their own culture.
